Setting up the bdp-103 is very straightforward, especially as most people will be using hdmi to connect the player to either a display or a receiver. the bdp-103 includes two hdmi outputs just like last year's players but the menu now offers a choice of split a/v or dual display.. If you have an oppo udp 203 4k player & samsung ks-8000 tv, then these are my recomended picture settings for hdr movie viewing only .i will walk you through in detail why i recommend these. Oppo 103 was a real good player, competitive with high end players from marantz, denon and etc. personally, due to the great service by oppo for their products, would have gone with oppo even though i have a long standing love for marantz products.. When i pressed oppo about these settings, they made sure to tell me this (i know no software has deep color 36-bit): deep color 36-bit is your best option. you will only use the dithered options if you are seeing excessive banding when playing dvd media..
